More than one business

Plenty of owners run two or three: the trade and the rental, the shop and the consulting. Most accounting software treats each one as a separate customer and charges you the full price again. Here they ride one login and one bill, and each keeps its own completely separate set of books.

What is included, and what is not

Included in the $45Everything on the feature list: invoicing, expenses and bills, sales tax, 1099s, inventory, time, jobs, budgets, fixed assets, loans, month-end close, the full report set, bank statement reconciliation, the QuickBooks importer, the accountant pack, and all of Oikos AI. There is no higher tier to be upsold to.
Not included, because it does not exist yetAutomatic bank feeds are coming; importing a statement works today. Full-service payroll is not built, so you record or import runs. Automated sales-tax filing is prep only. Advanced inventory such as assemblies and FIFO or LIFO is not planned. We would rather you read that here than find it in month two.

Handled by Stripe, not usIf you switch on online invoice payments, your customers pay through Stripe and the money settles to you. Stripe's own processing fee applies to those payments and is charged by Stripe, not added by us.

Questions about the money

Is there a free trial?

There is something better to start with: the live demo is the real app with sample books and needs no account, and the desktop app is the complete product for free with no expiry. Between those two you can find out whether you like it without giving anyone a card. When you want your books on every device, that is the $45 subscription.

Does Oikos AI cost extra?

No. It is in the $45. We considered selling it as an add-on and decided against it, because a bookkeeping app where the easy way to enter something costs extra is just a worse bookkeeping app.

What happens to my books if I stop paying?

They are yours. Export everything with one click at any time, including before you cancel, and the free desktop app will keep running your books afterwards at no cost. We do not hold your records hostage to a subscription, and you should not accept software that does.

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

Not to try it. The demo needs no account and the desktop app needs no card. A card is collected when you subscribe to Cloud, by Stripe rather than by us.

Is my accountant an extra seat?

No. Invite your accountant or bookkeeper with view access or with permission to post adjustments, at no charge, and they do not need a subscription of their own.

Are there setup fees or migration charges?

No. The QuickBooks importer is in the product and you run it yourself. If you are bringing a large or messy book across and want help, we will do it with you, and we will tell you plainly if we think you should stay where you are.

Do prices change as you add features?

Features land continuously and are included as they land. If we ever change the price, existing subscribers hear it from us directly and in advance, not from a surprise line on a statement.
